New York -
Robert Pattinson admits he was in denial when he signed up for the tragic-rebel/romanance film Remember Me.

Yes, Twilight had just come out. But the 23 -year-old actor – Known to legions of young women as the heartthrob vampire Edward Cullen – thought he could put that aside and prepare for his role as a troubled NYU student the old fashion way.

“Before I actullay went to New York, I thought it was going to be really easy, and I could just hang out there ans pick-up on a lot of New Yorkers’ mannerisms,” says the easy-going British actor with the independent hair.

“of course, it ended up being more of a circus than I thought.” And it would only get worse. By the time filming began on the indie rebel without a cause-esque drama,Twilight: New Moon had come out. And while his Aussie leading lady Emilie de Ravin ( Lost) was able to saunter about Queens honing her accent for Remember Me, Pattinson was a constrained by girls in “Team Edward” t-shirts and, more aggressively,by the poparazzi.

At the beginning, it was driving me insane,”Pattinson says. “Especially for a character who’s supposed to be lost and looking for something, and you can’t look up because suddenly shutters accelerate. I mean, halfway through I had an epiphany about it. It was just learning how to block things out.”

Comcast has some fun news this morning. They will be showing New Moon On Demand beginning at 12:01am on Saturday March 20th and they’ll have the commentary with Chris Weitz available too. Check out more below (including a small snippet of the commentary!):

Comcast will have The Twilight Saga: New Moon On Demand beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, March 20 – the same day as the DVD release but HOURS before most retailers are even open. AND, only Comcast customers will be able to view never-before-seen commentary from director Chris Weitz on a number of favorite ‘New Moon’ scenes such as: Bella’s birthday party, Bella’s cliff dive, when Bella rescues Edward in Italy and when Bella first meets the Volturi. Twilight will also be available on Showtime On Demand if people want to make a night out of it.

This is such a cool opportunity for people who have Comcast. I think if we did I’d be watching the commentary at midnight.

Before Edward Cullen and “Twilight” and the global heartthrob status that followed, there was Robert Pattinson, young actor making his way in the business.

“I thought he was a nice, scruffy young guy from England,” said “Remember Me” director Allen Coulter. He had lunch with Pattinson a year before shooting began.

“Twilight” hadn’t yet opened, and Coulter ultimately cast Pattinson as Tyler Hawkins, an anguished college student estranged from his father who falls in love with the daughter of a cop.

“I thought, ‘What the hell, let’s take a chance on the guy.’ Then suddenly he was a phenomenon.”

When “Remember Me” was filming last year on location in Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn, security was a must because of paparazzi and fans.

“The actors are trying to do an intimate scene, with a thousand girls vibrating on the hill,” Coulter said.

Pattinson agreed: “The first two weeks were kind of crazy because I was all around (New York University) and Washington Square Park, where there would be tons of people around anyway. But after that you just get used to it. You just block certain things out.” (more…)

NEW_MOON_DVD_Art_2-D(8)

Right now, there are several vendors who plan to host The Twilight Saga: New Moon DVD release parties, and, with the scattered availability, it has been a bit difficult for some fans to find venues near to them.

So, Summit Entertainment has simplified their efforts by providing a New Moon DVD release party search portal on the film’s official website HERE

On the main page, there is a search tool where fans can type in their zip code and see a list of participating stores within the range provided.

Also newly available on the New Moon site is a link for “DVD Savings” through Red Plum, and you can check that out on either the official webpage or Red Plum itself. It appears that, by searching for deals available in your market location (zip code), Red Plum will provide several choices of DVD discount coupons.

Should serve to simpify things. . .

There’s no mistaking Tyler Hawkins for Edward Cullen.

Tyler — the young romantic ‘Twilight’ heartthrob Robert Pattinson portrays in the new drama ‘Remember Me’ — is still brooding, but more in a Holden Caulfield, disenfranchised upper-crest New Yorker sort of way (rather than, you know, troubled by the anxieties of blood-lust and immortality).

Pattinson and co-stars Pierce Brosnan, Emilie de Ravin and Chris Cooper, plus director Allen Coulter and screenwriter Will Fetters, hit New York recently to talk about the Manhattan-set drama. And since, well, we had a feeling the masses of R.Patz fans might be just a little bit enthused to have their existence officially acknowledged by the actor, we opened up the floor for fan-submitted questions.

The gracious Pattinson played along, answering questions about whether or not he’d ever consider playing James Bond (”I don’t know if I’d be capable of it, I think you need to be pretty fit for that”), the awkwardness of love scenes, his acting inspirations (”Joaquin Phoenix, Ryan Gosling“) and what he could never give up (”Beer”).
